Harry Ley - Crooked Cops EP [MFR031] [MFR Records]

Never one to keep you waiting long, MFR Records are back once again to release more records for the dance-floor. This time Harry Ley is back with his new Crooked Cops EP and provides a blend of party-vs-after-party tracks to fill your record box with. Relying on an old school hip-hop sample loop to carry it from start to finish, Crooked Cops has a 'renegade master' feel to the track. Ideal for the floor, Harry uses a range of pumping kick drums, claps and numerous breakdowns to create this bass heavy eight minute beast. A powerful driving energy to open up any rave.
Straight into Keep Up, Harry creates a creepy jam featuring some crisp percussion, wistful melodies and rumbling male vocal samples. Subtle but powerful, Keep Up is a husky track and should be considered a good choice when in need of music to come down to. Distinctively different to the introductory track, here Harry switches up his sound by creating a moodier edge to the EP. The final track of the EP comes as a Dub Mix of previous track Keep Up. This slow moving track sees Harry get dark and twisted. It's haunting melodies and transformation into a more techno-based body of work, Harry is not shy of a lethal set of beats. The Crooked Cops EP will be available to purchase from 10th April 2015.
