Chab's 2005 classic Closer To Me gets a fierce reworking from German masters Lissat & Voltaxx on the latest Great Stuff Recordings release. Preserving some of the dark tribal chug of the original, they keep the bass murky and add some more pumping energy to the beats, leaving the vocal intact and making good use of its mysterious synth stabs and emotive guitar chords. It's a classy, respectful rework that brings the original up to date with increased dancefloor prowess. Mike Vale brings yet more energy on his feisty remix, with epic piano chords spicing up the breakdowns and a tribal tinge gracing his lively beats. He uses the vocal more sparingly, letting his chunky, deep bassline do the damage and eliciting a summer vibe from all that he throws into the pot. For those who like their house music rolling and chunky with a little vocal hook, this will flick your switches nicely.
